Direct Primary Care at Lake Forest Regenesis
A Primary Care Relationship, Not a Series of Appointments
Lake Forest Regenesis provides Direct Primary Care for adults who want an ongoing relationship with a provider who knows their health history, understands their goals, and can provide personalized clinical guidance over time.
Direct Primary Care at Lake Forest Regenesis is built around a simple idea: your care is better when your provider knows you.
When you join, you aren’t just paying for appointments. You are establishing an ongoing primary care relationship with Allana Bush, FNP-C, RN, PHN, MSN, a family nurse practitioner with more than 20 years of healthcare experience, including primary care.
Your membership covers primary care visits at Lake Forest Regenesis and gives you access to Allana’s clinical guidance as your health changes. Because you see the same provider, your history, medications, and goals are already understood when a new concern comes up. Each visit builds on the last instead of starting over.
The focus is continuity, prevention, and thoughtful medical decision-making for adults in Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, Highland Park, Libertyville, and communities throughout the North Shore and Lake County.
Personalized Primary Care • Continuity • Preventive Care • Provider-Guided Support • $119 Monthly Membership
What Is Direct Primary Care?
A Simple Membership Model for Primary Care
Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a model in which patients pay a practice directly for primary care through a monthly membership, rather than having the practice bill insurance for each visit.
At Lake Forest Regenesis, the membership is $119 per month, paid directly to the clinic. Membership-covered primary care visits are not billed to insurance, so there are no insurance claims or copays for those visits.
The model keeps primary care simple and predictable: one monthly fee covers your primary care visits with the same provider, from routine and sick visits to prevention and follow-up.
Direct Primary Care is not health insurance. Most patients keep insurance for labs, prescriptions, imaging, specialists, hospital and emergency care, and other services outside the membership.
Personalized Primary Care
More Than an Appointment
In many healthcare settings, each visit can feel like a fresh start. Direct Primary Care gives you ongoing access to Allana Bush’s clinical experience, perspective, and personalized guidance, not simply an appointment when something goes wrong.
Over time, that continuity allows your provider to understand your medical history, medications, and goals, recognize changes in your health, and review new symptoms in the context of what she already knows about you.
Members can also message or call Allana between visits, so a question about a new symptom, medication, or test result doesn’t have to wait for your next appointment.
Small changes in blood pressure, weight, sleep, or lab results are easier to interpret when your provider has seen your baseline.
Direct Primary Care vs. Traditional Primary Care
Two Different Ways to Access Primary Care
Both models can provide good care. The main differences are how care is paid for and how it is structured.
Traditional Primary Care
In a traditional practice, visits are generally billed through your health insurance, and copays, coinsurance, or deductibles may apply depending on your plan.
Depending on the practice, you may see different providers over time, appointment length varies, and your records and care may be spread across more than one system.
Lake Forest Regenesis Direct Primary Care
With Direct Primary Care, your primary care visits are covered through a predictable $119 monthly membership paid directly to the clinic.
You have continuity with the same provider, personalized visits, the ability to message or call your provider between visits, and preventive care and follow-up over time, all through a direct relationship with the clinic.
Many patients use both: Direct Primary Care for their primary care relationship, and health insurance for services outside the membership.
What Your $119 Membership Includes
Direct Primary Care Membership — $119/Month
The membership covers Lake Forest Regenesis primary care visits and access to your provider’s ongoing clinical guidance. Depending on your needs, membership care may include the services below.
Care is provided based on clinical need and the scope of primary care offered at Lake Forest Regenesis. Specialized programs offered at the clinic, such as medical weight loss, hormone therapy, IV therapy, Emsculpt NEO and Emsella, are separate from the Direct Primary Care membership.
Primary Care & Follow-Up Visits
Routine primary care visits and follow-up with the same provider, so each visit builds on what she already knows about your health.
Sick Visits
Visits for common, non-emergency illnesses within the clinic's scope, with guidance on next steps when a concern needs a different level of care.
Preventive Health Evaluations
Preventive visits, health-risk discussions, and a preventive care plan based on your age, health history, and risk factors.
Access Between Visits
Members can message or call Allana between visits with questions about symptoms, medications, results, or next steps.
Chronic Care & Medication Management
Ongoing monitoring of chronic health concerns, plus review and management of your medications when clinically appropriate.
Lab Review & Care Coordination
Interpretation of lab results in the context of your health, plus referrals and coordination with outside specialists when appropriate.
What Is Separate From Your Membership?
Clear Expectations From the Start
The $119 monthly membership does not include the cost of prescription medications, laboratory testing, imaging, specialist visits, hospital services, emergency care, or outside procedures and treatments.
You may use your health insurance for laboratory testing and other outside services when applicable. Those services are billed by the laboratory, pharmacy, imaging center, or other provider that performs them, based on your plan’s coverage.
Knowing exactly what the membership covers helps you plan ahead, without surprises.
Clinical Oversight & Safety
Safe primary care starts with understanding the full picture. At Lake Forest Regenesis, that begins with a thorough review of your medical history, medications, and supplements, along with interpretation of laboratory results when testing is ordered.
Clinical decisions are evidence-informed and individualized. Part of safe care is recognizing when a concern falls outside the clinic's scope and referring you to the right specialist or care setting.
Ongoing follow-up allows your care to be adjusted as your health, medications, and needs change over time.
Medical Disclaimer
Direct Primary Care does not replace emergency medical services, hospital care, or specialty care when those services are required. If you are experiencing serious or potentially life-threatening symptoms, call 911 or seek emergency care immediately. The Direct Primary Care membership is not health insurance. Preventive Care & Long-Term Health
Primary Care Is About More Than Treating Illness
Good primary care looks ahead. Preventive care focuses on identifying health risks early, tracking important measures over time, and building a plan that fits your age, history, and goals.
Depending on your needs, preventive care may include monitoring of blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, and weight, along with discussion of cardiovascular and metabolic risk, sleep, nutrition, physical activity, and your current medications.
It also includes age-appropriate screenings and an overall health-risk assessment, so you know which areas deserve attention now and which to watch over time.
Screening needs vary by age, sex, personal and family history, and individual risk factors. Allana uses evidence-based guidance, such as the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommendations, together with your history to help decide which screenings make sense for you. When a screening is done elsewhere, such as a mammogram or colonoscopy, she can help coordinate the referral.
Everyday & Acute Primary Care
Care When You Aren't Feeling Well
Primary care includes the everyday concerns that come up between preventive visits. Members may be seen for common, non-emergency concerns within the clinic’s scope, such as minor illnesses, coughs, congestion or sinus symptoms, uncomplicated infections, and minor skin concerns.
Visits can also address gastrointestinal concerns, routine muscle and joint concerns, medication questions, and follow-up after an illness.
If a concern needs testing, imaging, or care beyond what the clinic provides, Allana can help direct you to the right next step.
Direct Primary Care does not replace emergency care. If you have chest pain, difficulty breathing, signs of a stroke, severe bleeding, or another potentially life-threatening symptom, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
Ongoing Management of Chronic Health Concerns
Steady, Long-Term Support
Many chronic conditions are best managed through consistent monitoring and adjustment over time. That is where continuity with one provider can be especially valuable.
Within the scope of primary care, Allana may help manage or monitor concerns such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, prediabetes and type 2 diabetes, thyroid concerns, metabolic health, and weight-related health concerns.
Care may include medication management, reviewing lab results and trends, adjusting your plan, and regular follow-up. Some conditions, or more complex cases, are best managed together with a specialist. In those situations, Allana can refer you and help coordinate care so your primary care plan and specialty care work together.
Primary Care That Sees the Bigger Picture
Connecting the Pieces of Your Health
Health concerns rarely exist in isolation. Weight, metabolic health, hormones, sleep, mood, sexual health, lifestyle, and medications can all influence one another.
Because Lake Forest Regenesis also provides medical weight loss, hormone optimization, and functional medicine, your primary care provider is familiar with these areas and can recognize when a concern may deserve a closer look. The same is true for mental wellness and pelvic and sexual health concerns that come up during routine care.
Most primary care needs don’t call for any additional program. When one may be clinically relevant, Allana will talk it through with you, and the decision is always yours. These programs are separate from the Direct Primary Care membership.
Labs, Prescriptions & Outside Care
Clinical Interpretation, Not Just Test Results
Laboratory testing can be an important part of primary care, and Allana can order labs when they are clinically appropriate.
Labs are not included in the $119 membership. Patients may use insurance for laboratory testing when applicable. Prescription medications are also separate, as are specialist visits, imaging, and other outside services, which are billed by the providers who perform them.
What your membership does provide is the part that often matters most: a provider who can explain what your results mean for you. A lab value is more useful when it is read alongside your history, symptoms, medications, and previous results.
Allana reviews your results in that context, talks through what they mean, and helps decide on next steps. That may be a treatment change, follow-up testing, a referral, or simply continued monitoring. She can also coordinate with specialists and other outside providers so the different parts of your care stay connected.
Who May Be a Good Fit for Direct Primary Care?
Direct Primary Care may be a good fit for adults who want a consistent primary care provider and continuity of care over time, with personalized visits and preventive health guidance.
It may also appeal to patients who want easier access to clinical advice and predictable membership pricing, along with a provider who understands their broader health history and can help coordinate different areas of their care.
If you aren't sure whether the membership fits your needs, a conversation with our team can help you decide.
Who May Need a Different Level of Care?
Direct Primary Care is designed for ongoing, non-emergency primary care. It does not replace emergency departments, hospital care, or urgent evaluation of serious or life-threatening symptoms.
It also does not replace specialist care when it is needed, or highly complex care outside the clinic's scope.
Recognizing when a concern needs a different level of care is part of good primary care. When that happens, Allana will help you understand your options and direct you to the right setting.
